During Sheriff Manning's first three years in
office, the narcotics unit has arrested over 400
drug traffickers and dealers, seized more than two
and a quarter million dollars in drugs and drug
assets, and received over $115,000.00 in funds from
state and federal forfeiture programs. The narcotics
unit is committed to doing everything possible to
stop the flow of illegal drugs and the associated
crimes that go along with it.
Crime was on a steady increase in
the rural and unincorporated areas of Pitt County
before the Manning administration. We have since
seen significant declines in crime in the areas
policed by the Sheriff's Office. The results we are
getting from our overall drug enforcement efforts
are playing a major role in making that happen.
